Ever wondered where all those little things go - buttons, pencils, beads, dice, tiny toys, a whole bag of Pom poms. Where did that French knitting go and why is there a pile of matches with no box? The Borrowers of course, tiny people who borrow these things (indefinitely!). They live under the floorboards or in that cupboard you never use, some of them even have houses.
Based on the books my Mary Norton as well as the BBC series and various movies, we will be painting, sticking, cutting, sewing (hand and machine), repurposing, crafting and of course borrowing (with permission) to make our very own Borrowers home to display, play with and cherish for years to come.
Spark your child’s imagination and creativity with this fantastic week long project, gaining new skills and confidence as well as having fun of course. Along with the usual crafting skills we will also be learning French Knitting and small loom weaving for some quiet time and making tiny rugs for our homes.
We will also be crafting our own little (peg doll) Borrowers family.
